Positive changes for children’s health
Thanks to our incredible donors, supporters and volunteers CMRF Crumlin have been doing whatever it takes to support some of Ireland’s sickest children for more than 50 years. So we are excited that with the construction of Ireland’s brand-new children’s hospital well underway, we know too that there is a fantastic era ahead for the care and treatment of sick children in this country.
Work is also taking place in the background and in January 2019 the legal structure of the three existing children’s hospitals – Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin, Temple Street, and National Children’s Hospital Tallaght, will be merged under one new health group Children’s Health Ireland dedicated to providing the best in child health care for Ireland long into the future.
We too must plan for the future to ensure that we can continue to support the families, friends and patients in these hospitals on every step of their treatment journey. Today, tomorrow, and in the future.
That’s why, from January 2019, CMRF Crumlin and Temple Street Foundation will come together to fight for sick children. We also envisage that the National Children’s Hospital Foundation in Tallaght will join us in becoming a single, unified family for all of Ireland’s sickest children in the years ahead.
This is simply our first step in ensuring we are stronger together, and getting prepared to support the new way healthcare and research will be delivered to improve outcomes for sick children. We promise to keep our supporters, donors and volunteers informed about these exciting plans in the months and years to come.
Most importantly, we remain committed to continuing our fundraising work to meet the urgent needs of the children who come to Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin, 365 days a year - until the last child transfers from Crumlin and also by funding vital research at the NCRC.
Next year we have significant commitments to keep doing whatever it takes for sick children and we are asking the whole CMRF Crumlin community to be there for these children, in their corner. #whateveritakes
