Q: How do I get started
A: You start by filling in our Community fundraising form, once you have done this you will be contacted by the Community Fundraising Manager and he/she will go through your planned event with you and advise you on how to get started.
Q: Will I need a Garda Permit to fundraise
A: Garda Permits are required for some fundraising events but NOT for all fundraising events your Fundraising Manager will advise on this.
Q: Do I Need Insurance to hold a fundraising event
A: We hold Third Party Liability Insurance Cover however participants taking part in the fundraising event are NOT covered by Insurance. You can also take out your own private insurance for your event.
Q: Do I need to open a Bank account
A: No you can lodge your fundraising money directly into our CMRF account, our CMRF Fundraising Manager will supply you with our Bank account details
Q: When do I send the fundraising money into you
A: As soon as you receive it, or as soon as your event is over. See Return Your Money
Q: Can I set up a donation’s page on your website
Q: Can I use your Logo and Name
A: In order to use our Logo or name you MUST firstly discuss and get permission from the CMRF Crumlin's Fundraising Manager.
Q: Where does the money that I raised go to?
A: We use your fundraising money for a large number of ongoing projects at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin and the National Children's Research Centre i.e.; Research, Wards, Equipment, etc;
Q: Will I be supplied with a receipt when I make a donation?
A: Yes as soon as we receive your lodgement you will receive a letter of thanks and our official receipt for the amount lodged if you have requested it.
Q: What fundraising materials do you supply?
A: We can supply you with the following; t-shirts, posters, buckets, sponsor cards, thank you DVD, we can also customise the posters and sponsor cards to suit your event. See our list of materials for more details.
Q: Is there a charge for fundraising materials
A: Yes there are charges for fundraising materials but this is deducted out of the overall money that you raised with your event .
Q: Can I fundraise for a particular area in the hospital
A: Yes you can.
Q: Can I fundraise for another charity along with fundraising for CMRF and share the money 50-50
A: Yes but please discuss this with the CMRF Fundraising Manager before you start your fundraising as we will be unable to get a permit if required.
Q: Can children fundraise for CMRF
A: Only under the strict supervision of a Parent, Teacher or Adult.
Q. How will the money I raise be used?
A. Donations received will help us to pay for more life-saving equipment for children who are critically ill, more beds so parents can stay close by, and ground-breaking research to give sick children a brighter future.
Q. Is there a minimum amount?
A. No, there is no minimum amount. Every penny raised is appreciated and will count towards giving sick children the best we can deliver
Q. My friends want to support me, but do not want to donate online?
A. Friends and family who would rather donate by credit card over the phone are welcome to do so by lo call 1890 507 508 (9.00am - 5.00pm). We also accept cheque / postal orders. Please ensure cheques are made out to CMRF Crumlin.
Q. Can I show cheques and cash donations which I have received on my online sponsor page?
A. Yes, once we have received your cheques/bank payments you can email us the details to firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll add them to your online page.
Q. Can the money raised be donated towards a particular ward, piece of equipment or research project?
A. Yes; donations can be directed to a particular area of the hospital or research centre's work but please mark this on your donation or contact our Communities Support Team to specify on lo call 1890 507 508 to arrange this.
Q. Can you supply balloons and collecting buckets?
A. Yes, and many other types of fundraising materials.
Q. Is a member of staff available to attend a cheque presentation
A. If agreed with the fundraising manager yes. However notice must be given in advance as we have a limited amount of people who are available to attend presentations. Alternatively you can come to the hospital and present your cheque to us.
