Ailbhe parents set up this fund to raise vital funds for the Children's Heart Centre, Crumlin and along with their family and friends set about organising numerous fundraising events.
Baby Ailbhe Grace Mullally-McGettrick died on September 24th, 2014 aged 9 weeks and 5 days. Ailbhe spent all of her short life in the Children's Heart Centre in Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin. Her parents Catherine & Paul are forever grateful to cardiologists Dr Colin McMahon and Dr Kevin Walsh, clinical nurse specialist Helene Murchin, and all the doctors and nurses in the CHC for their outstanding care and treatment Ailbhe received there.
Her parents set up the Ailbhe Mullally-McGettrick fund to raise vital funds for the Children's Heart Centre in Crumlin and along with their family and friends set about organising numerous fundraising events. The money raised includes 100% of the proceeds of numerous car boot sales, coffee mornings, cake sales, raffle/tombola and Ailbhe's penny collection, as well as all donations made through Ailbhe's web page.
These events along with an amazing charity Salsa Night in Ailbhe's memory managed to raise a whopping €10,545. Paul & Catherine came back to visit the unit to present the cheque and the breast feeding pump that they purchased for the ward.
Catharine & Paul, would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed so generously over the past two years for helping to make this presentation possible. It will make a big difference to the children and staff in the Children's Heart Centre.
Special thanks to Mark Elmore, Mike Gargan and everyone involved in the amazing charity salsa night in Ailbhe's memory and to Alan Mullally for his fantastic Achill run. Thanks also to Sarah Staunton, Siobhan Clancy, Aida Alonso Velasco, Eamon Mullally, Aisling Kenny, staff and students in Dundalk Institute of Technology and our neighbours in Woodford, Clondalkin.
Ailbhe is smiling down from above.
