Owen Walsh`s family organised a 10K walk along the lovely banks of the Royal Canal in his memory on Saturday 6th August 2016.
Baby Owen Walsh was a great little fighter.
Born very prematurely on 22nd February 2013 he battled bravely against a number of life-threatening conditions during his time in Crumlin. Sadly, aged 6 weeks, he lost his battle and passed away in Crumlin on 7th April 2013.
Owen`s strength and courage will never be forgotten and he will always be an inspiration to all who knew him.
In his memory Owen`s family organised a 10K walk along the lovely banks of the Royal Canal from Ballynacargy, County Westmeath to Abbeyshrule, County Longford on Saturday, August 6th this year.
On one of the warmest days of the year, a great crowd of family, friends and neighbours turned out to celebrate Owen`s life and raise funds for Crumlin
Everyone enjoyed the lovely scenery of the walk (some fit people even ran it!) and a huge total of €5,975 was raised by the walkers on the day.
Special thanks must go to friends and family who travelled from all corners of Ireland to take part in the walk – your presence was much appreciated.
Also inspired by Owen, a crew of family and friends took part in the Lilliput Adventure Race in Westmeath on Saturday, July 16th to raise funds for Crumlin. This was a really positive way to celebrate Owen’s memory and this event raised a further €2,047.
So the total amount raised for Crumlin was a fantastic €8,022! Owen's family would like to thank all for their kind support and generosity.
