Murphy Surveys’ Cycle for Crumlin - A Huge Success
Cyclists of all levels and ages arrived to Murphy Surveys in Kilcullen to take part in the annual Cycle for Crumlin on Saturday July 23rd. There was a fantastic turn out as the rain stayed at bay for the riders who took off at 10am to do the 100KM route and 10.30am for the 50KM route.
Families and friends of the cyclists got to relax and enjoy some refreshments while they waited, with the kids getting to play in the fantastic bouncy castle and get their faces painted.
The atmosphere was jovial as the cyclists made their way back to the Kilcullen office and got a chance to enjoy the delicious food as well as a host of treats and nibbles courtesy of Murphy Surveys. There were smiling faces all around as participants took a moment to relax after all their hard work. The afternoon came to a nice close with a raffle which every cyclist was entered into and the winners were thrilled with their prizes.
Together with Murphy Surveys, CMRF would like to extend our thanks also to Liam Walker and Kilcullen Cycling Club, Briqo Catering, Scats Bouncing Castles, Burkes Pharmacy in Kilcullen, Energie Fitness Naas, The Osprey Hotel and the Talbot Hotel Carlow for sponsoring some great prizes, Tom’s Bike Shop Blessington, face painter Sarah Dooley, the Card and Party Shop Athy/Kilcullen, Brian Byrne for getting us these great photos, Donovan printing and also to the local community of Kilcullen and the local Gardaí.
CMRF Crumlin would like to say a huge thank you to all those who turned out on the day, both cyclists and spectators alike, and for supporting Crumlin Children’s Hospital with their generous donations. We would like to say a particular thanks to everyone in Murphy Surveys and Kilcullen Cycling Club for making this event such a success once again. Having raised €10,886.73 in 2015, we really hope that the Cycle For Crumlin will reach €15k this year to help us continue improving the quality of life for some of Ireland’s sickest children.
Funds raised through this year’s cycle will go towards purchasing a new piece of equipment for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. CMRF has a list of equipment required by the hospital to ensure they give every sick child every chance. Many of the machines on this list are obsolete and desperately need to be replaced. Some equipment on the list is so old that new parts and servicing is no longer available. With the purchase of new equipment, our medical professionals can take advantage of the latest technology which will lead to earlier diagnoses, improved treatment and an overall better experience and outcome for all our little patients.
A word from Murphy Surveys: “Just over €7,300 was raised on the day thanks to the generosity of those who took part, our suppliers and clients, helping us move closer to our target of €15,000! Donations are still being accepted for CMRF Crumlin and if you would like to make a contribution click here to make a donation or call Caitriona Hanly on 045 484 040.”
Thank you once again to all cyclists, spectators, suppliers, clients and employees for supporting Murphy Surveys Cycle For Crumlin.
